This beautiful over-sized mantel is made of burled walnut, sought after by craftsmen because of its unique shapes and ring patterns. These particular patterns are more or less symmetrical, reminiscent of ink blots in a Rorschach test. The extremely detailed molding along each column, coupled with egg and dart details and ornate acanthus leaves, complete the elegant look.
