Building Description | Most locals know of the legal battles waged over the McGuillocutty house. Built by pioneer Dame Eunice McGuillocutty, this mansion was slated to become a bed and breakfast. Once it was discovered that Metro subway tunneling efforts had undermined the structural integrity of the house, the decision was made to tear it down. ...but not before major efforts were taken to salvage as many of the home's unique artifacts. Although, clearly not part of the original house, this hallway light was commissioned by Eunice's granddaughter, and fabricated in the factory of famed glass blower Marco Vanhoozle. Definitely one of a kind. |
